Kulgam Police Crackdown: Notorious Drug Peddler’s Property Seized in Ongoing Battle Against Narcotics
Kulgam Police took a significant step by attaching the property of a notorious drug peddler, Mashooq Ahmad Sheikh. The double-storey residential house, measuring 625 sq. ft, located in Khudwani Qaimoh, Kulgam, was seized under section 68-F(2) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985.
According to the authorities, the property was deemed to have been acquired through illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. Mashooq Ahmad Sheikh has been identified as a key figure in Case FIR numbers 66/2023 at Police Station Qaimoh.
This action is part of the ongoing efforts by the police to curb the escalating issue of drug peddling in the region. The attachment of the property underscores the commitment of law enforcement to tackle the root causes of drug-related crimes and send a strong message against those involved in such illicit activities.
