Kargil Vijay Diwas: Dr Jitendra Singh pay homage to martyrs

Press Trust of Kashmir | Kargil :  Senior BJP leader and the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region and Minister of State for Prime Minister’s Office; Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions; Department of Atomic Energy and Department of Space Dr Jitendra Singh paid homage to the martyrs on the 22nd anniversary of the Kargil Vijay Diwas to pay homage to the indomitable courage and sacrifice of the Indian armed forces during the Kargil conflict of 1999 at the Kargil War Memorial.

Kargil war was declared over on July 26, 1999, after Indian soldiers pushed back Pakistani troops, a bulk of them drawn from the neighbouring country’s Northern Light Infantry, from the captured peaks in Kargil.

The day is observed as ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’ to commemorate India’s victory.(PTK).
