JKTPO organises District Outreach Programme at Samba

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR SAMBA, AUGUST 06: Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO) under its District Outreach initiative to promote exports, organized a stakeholders consultation here today at the Conference hall of DC office Samba.

Dr Devansh Yadav, Managing Director, JKTPO briefed the participants about various initiatives taken by JKTPO to facilitate trade & help the entrepreneurs & artisans to build business connections. He mentioned collaborative efforts being taken up by JKTPO with Quality Council of India (QCI) & Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) to enhance quality and packaging standards of the products under “One District One Product and District as Export Hubs”. He also mentioned about the initiative being taken up with Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation (JKTDC) to give opportunity to artisans to sell their products in various JKTDC’s properties.

Dr. Yadav mentioned that the objective of the session is to assess the need for organizing Export Capacity Building Workshop in the districts. The Export workshop will have experts from DGFT, FIEO, EPCs, APEDA etc. He discussed with the artisans, entrepreneurs & industrialists & took their feedback and assured to work on the best possible ways to overcome the challenges.

Suram C Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner briefed on the training and development initiatives taken by the District Administration. He emphasised on the training requirements of the artisans of Bamboo & other products related to the district as an export hub initiative.

Surinder Pal Sharma, General Manager, District Industries Centre, Samba, concluded the session with a vote of thanks.

Among others present on the occasion Pankaj Sasan, Functional Manager, Nitin Verma, Project Manager, DIC, Samba, representative from Handicraft, Horticulture & Agriculture departments, Artisans, entrepreneurs, industrialists besides more than 75 participants were also present in the meeting.
