JKLCMA Vice Chairman Reviews Functioning of STPs at Brari Numbal, Nallah Amir Khan

Srinagar, May 09 (PTK): Vice Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Lakes Conservation and Management Authority, Khurshid Ahmad Shah, on Saturday visited the Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) at Brari Numbal and Nallah Amir Khan in Srinagar to review their functioning and operational efficiency.

During the visit, the Vice Chairman inspected the 16.1 MLD STP at Brari Numbal and the 5.4 MLD STP at Nallah Amir Khan, both commissioned by JKLCMA.

Officials informed him that both plants are based on advanced MBR (Membrane Bioreactor) technology aimed at ensuring effective sewage treatment and improved environmental management.

Reviewing the operations, Khurshid Ahmad Shah stressed the importance of sustained efforts towards environmental conservation and efficient sewage treatment management for protection of water bodies and maintenance of ecological balance in the region.

He also directed the concerned officials to ensure smooth functioning, regular monitoring and optimum performance of the plants in accordance with environmental standards.(PTK)
