J&K Police Takes Swift Action Against Terrorism: Residential House and Vehicle Seized

Baramulla Police has taken decisive actions to curb illegal activities and militant operations. Under the powers vested in them by the UA (P) Act, the police have attached a residential house and a vehicle, following thorough investigations into separate cases.

The first case, under FIR No. 104/2023, involved the seizure of a Swift Car (registration number CH01AD-9588) during the investigation of illegal arms/ammunition transportation for militant activities. DySP SIU Baramulla, CIO of the case, utilized Section 25 of UA (P) Act, obtaining approval from the competent authority to attach the vehicle as proceeds of militancy.

Simultaneously, another investigation under FIR No. 46/2023 led to the attachment of a residential house in Wanigam Payeen. This house, owned by Farooq Ahmad Bhat, was implicated in harboring militants. Dr. Khalid Ashraf, JKPS, DySP Ops Kreeri, as the IO of the case, exercised the powers under Section 25 of UA (P) Act, securing approval to attach the residential property as part of the proceeds of militancy.

The Baramulla Police’s proactive approach showcases their commitment to maintaining law and order, ensuring that properties used for facilitating terrorist activities are swiftly addressed and neutralized. These actions play a crucial role in safeguarding the community and upholding the security of the region.
