Jammu and Kashmir Employees Coordination Committee Advises Employees to Refrain from Political Activities
Srinagar, 2nd September 2024 — With the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir preparing for upcoming elections and the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) now in effect, the Jammu and Kashmir Employees Coordination Committee (JKECC) has issued a strong advisory urging employees to steer clear of political activities.
In a statement issued to the Press Trust of Kashmir, Shah Fayaz, President of the JKECC, emphasized the importance of adhering to the Election Commission of India’s guidelines. He stressed that employees must maintain neutrality and dignity in their professional conduct during the election period.
Fayaz advised employees to avoid participating in political rallies, meetings, or discussions, and to refrain from displaying political affiliations on social media or distributing political materials. He underlined that upholding the integrity of the MCC is crucial to preventing any potential conflicts or violations.
The JKECC’s advisory calls for all employees to respect these guidelines and cooperate fully to ensure a fair and impartial electoral process, reinforcing the importance of maintaining professionalism and neutrality in the lead-up to the elections.
