SRINAGAR JUNE(PTK) A meeting of cross sections of society via intellectuals, writers, former trade union leaders, doctors, traders and lawyers was held here today maintaining the SOP of COVID 19 strictly.
In the meeting it was felt seriously that Jammu and Kashmir was passing through a tough time. And there was onslaught on political, economic, democratic, social rights and the right of freedom of expression.
As such after the threadbare discussion it was felt that there is need of a civil society to work in order to represent peoples aspirations, needs emotions, to address the issues of deprivation of right to freedom of expression, tyranny of various kinds, social evils, drug addiction, corruption and other ills of the society in general in the larger interest of the society in a composite mechanism
The participants of the meeting unanimously resolved to frame a civil society under the name and style. “Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum UKCSF)” which will work and function as a non-political organization and will not become part of any political election process directly or Indirectly at any time. However, the organization will have a privilege, legally to share and make its opinion in the socio-economic political & human issues of the coming times and has rights to react and resist against policy decision of the government which will be against the sentiment, emotions aspirations and rights of people of In the meeting it was resolved that every decision of the civil society/Forum will be taken keeping in view the aspiration ,emotions and the rights of the people.
It was resolved that the constitution of the JKCSF will be prepared under the supervision of Haji Farooq Ahmad Lone with By-Laws as well and as the COVID-19 Crisis will recede, Forum will be structured centrally and extended to provincial and district levels as well for which all sections of the society will be taken into confidence ROSE A press conference in this regard will be arranged soon wherein constitution and bylaws will be put forth before people as the COVID 19 SOPs allow us In the meeting to kick start the functioning of the forum the provisional body has been framed unanimously with former Trade union leader Abdul Qayoom Wani as the (Chairman).
