Jamia Masjid Srinagar reopened for Friday prayers after 30 weeks

 

Press Trust of Kashmir| Srinagar : The authorities today allowed reopening of historic Jamia Masjid Srinagar for Friday prayers after a gap of around 30 weeks.

 

Jamia Masjid was reopened today after a gap 30 weeks and Friday prayers will be today at the central Jamia Masjid Srinagar, officials said

 

Anjuman Auqaf confirmed that Jamia has been opened and Friday prayers will be held there today.

 

 

Divisional commissioner Kashmir, P K Pole, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, SSP Srinagar along with other officials had visited the masjid to take review of arrangements for its reopening last week.

 

Eyewitnesses said that hundreds of people have thronged to the Jamia to offer Friday prayers there.:-PTK.
