Indian Muslim safer than Muslims of Pakistan, Syria: BJP

SRINAGAR, JULY 11 (PTK):Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) State spokesman Altaf Thakur today lashed out at the Kashmir’s deputy grand Mutt Naseer ul Islam for demanding a separate country for the Muslims of India stating that India is a secular country where people of all religions, irrespective of their cast, creed and colour have equal right to freedom and nobody interferes in on another’s religious affairs.

In a statement issued to PTK, Thakur said that India is not a country like Pakistan where Muslims feel insecure and where every day blasts and explosions take place inside the religious places including Mosques. He said India is not also like Syria where every massacre of Muslims are taking place and the lives of Muslims have become hell and that India is a country where people of all faiths enjoy equal rights, freedom of speech and freedom of religion without any pressure from any quarter.

The BJP state spokesman said that in India 30 crore Muslims live in a very peaceful atmosphere and in the judiciary every body is treated equally. The Muslims comprise the important segment of India being a successful secular country where people of all faiths and religions live in a free atmosphere, without any threat and fear.

Thakur said that in India, where 1.25 crore people live, there is no discrepancy in the name of religion, caste or colour as Prime Minister Narendra Modi has put in his best efforts to keep all people of all religions intact and to ensure development of people of all religions to make the country prosper on the developmental front. Thakur said that it was because of the Prime Minister Modi’s personal endeavor under the slogan of Sab Ka Sath, Sab Ka Vikas, elderly, women, children, and adults irrespective of the fact to which religion they belong to, were made part of the country’s developmental initiatives.

Thakur said that deputy grand mufti being a sensible person shouldn’t talk in air and things that are aimed at triggering communal frenzy. The BJP state spokesman urged deputy grand mufti to read the country’s model of justice that provides equal treatment to people of all faiths and that there  is no need to set up separate shariah courts in a country like India where Muslims or for that matter people of other religions have no major complaints.
