IMD issues yellow color weather warning in J&K
Srinagar January, 28 ( PTK) Moderate to heavy snowfall on 30 January
IMD has issued a yellow color weather warning in Jammu and Kashmir on 30 January.
An official of the MeT said that currently weather is generally cloudy at most places.
He said that from 28-29 January, generally a cloudy weather with light Snow/Rain at scattered places of J&K is expected.
On 30 January, widespread moderate Snow/Rain( in Jmu) with Heavy Snowfall in Pirpanjal, South Kashmir, Doda-Kistawar etc.(>75% šššš£šš)* is expected
On 31 January Light to Moderate Snow/Rain at Scattered places is expected, he said.
The weather weather may cause Snow Avalanche in Avalanche prone areas during above period and may affect Surface & Air transportation on 30th besides that it may affect power supply.
In an advisory, MeT saod that people are advised NOT to venture out in Avalanche prone areas, unless emergency and intending passengers are advised to travel after confirmation of road status from concerned Traffic Police. (PTK)
