GCET Safapora students demand online exams amid COVID-19 pandemic

 

Srinagar September 10 (PTK) Scores of students of GCET Safapora Ganderbal district Thursday expressed resentment against University authorities and demanded online examination as early as possible amid surging numbers in COVID-19 positive cases.

A student who is pursuing his Bachelor’s from Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET) technology Safapora Ganderbal said that they have been completely ignored by the University administration.

He said it is not possible for them to appear in offline mode examination due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“The university are putting the lives of hundreds of students at risk across Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh,” he said.

He said they joined their 4-year course two years ago in August 2018. “We should be in 5th semester by this time,” he said.

According to PTK “We have appeared for the semester examination of the first year only, indicating a lag of more than two semesters,” he said.

He further added that in June 2020, Cluster University, Srinagar released a notification mentioning that the decision on our examination will come in July.

Another student, said that University administration started the application process in late August and has not released a single notification in this regard.

They requested higher ups to conduct our online exams at an earliest.(PTK)
