LG Manoj Sinha Reviews Ongoing Conservation Projects at Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex

Jammu, June 8 (PTK): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday visited the historic Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex in Jammu and reviewed the progress of various ongoing conservation, restoration and development projects aimed at preserving the region’s rich cultural and architectural heritage.

The Lieutenant Governor was accompanied by MLA Jammu East Yudhvir Sethi, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Principal Secretary Culture Brij Mohan Sharma, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar, IGP Jammu Bhim Sen Tuti, Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation Dr. Devansh Yadav, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Rakesh Minhas, SSP Jammu Joginder Singh, Executive Director Mubarak Mandi Jammu Heritage Society (MMJHS) Deepika Sharma and other senior officers.

During the visit, the Lieutenant Governor inspected the restoration work being carried out on the damaged wall and slab of the historic Gadadhar Ji Temple, located adjacent to the Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex. He directed the concerned officials to expedite the restoration process while ensuring strict adherence to quality standards and heritage conservation norms.

The Lieutenant Governor also reviewed the progress of the ramp-based multi-level car parking facility being constructed at the heritage complex. Officials informed him that the project is aimed at improving visitor convenience and addressing parking challenges in the heritage zone.

Later, Manoj Sinha visited the newly opened Library-cum-Cafeteria within the heritage complex and took stock of the facilities developed for visitors and tourists.

During the review, the Executive Director of MMJHS briefed the Lieutenant Governor about the remaining works related to the revival, restoration and renovation of the Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex.

The projects currently under execution include the Conservation of Darbar Hall, Raja Ram Singh Palace, Raja Amar Singh Palace, Dogra Art Museum and several other significant heritage structures within the complex.

Officials informed the Lieutenant Governor that the major conservation works are progressing steadily and are expected to be completed over the coming months.

Reiterating the administration’s commitment to preserving Jammu and Kashmir’s historical and cultural legacy, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized the importance of timely completion of all heritage projects while maintaining the authenticity and architectural character of the historic structures.(PTK)
