Ganderbal residents pay Candle Light tribute to CDS Bipin Rawat

Ganderbal, 10 Dec (PTK) : Local residents, Civil Society and Officials of District Administration of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on friday evening came together to pay their homage to India’s first chief of defence Gen Bipin Rawat and 12 other soldiers , who died in an Helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu’s Coonoor on Wednesday afternoon .

According to Press trust of Kashmir (PTK) Locals and civilian administration lit candles & Two minutes of silence was observed as a mark of respect and in honour of those who lives were lost while on duty.

They were extremely saddened on hearing the untimely demise of their CDS General Bipin Rawat, Mrs Madhulika & all others on board and extended their deepest condolences to all who had lost their lives in the fatal accident.

Meanwhile the locals were in utter shock & disbelief on hearing the news, and they had approached the Army to facilitate the conduct of this solemn event. This event helped further cement the bond between the AWAM and ARMY and speaks volumes of the bonhomie of the local people with the Army.(PTK).
