GANDERBAL POLICE OBSERVES “THANA DIWAS” AT WALIWAR, IN THE JURISDICTION OF PS LAR.

Srinagar March 31 (PTK) Ganderbal Police observed “Thana Diwas” at Waliwar in the jurisdiction of PS Lar yesterday with a view to enhance community engagement and address public concerns. The event was presided by SSP Ganderbal Shri Ragav S, IPS, which was attended by GOs and other senior Police officers of the district.

The participants included community members, farmers, Auqaf Committee representatives, Numberdars, Chowkidars, Teachers and members of various traders belonging to far flung areas of Chanthan, Waliwar and Chountwaliwar. It is pertinent to mention that this is the first time ever an event of such kind has been held in this far flung hilly area.

SSP Ganderbal attentively listened to the grievances and concerns put forth by the participants. Speaking on the occasion, SSP Ganderbal ensured that Ganderbal Police shall remain accessible to the people, and that their grievances relating to Police will be addressed immediately and in an effective manner and the grievances pertaining to civil administration will be taken up with the concerned departments to resolve them on priority.

He further stressed upon the Zero tolerance policy of Ganderbal Police towards drugs and requested the participants to come forward with any information regarding the same and assured them of immediate action.

Participants in the event expressed their gratitude for the initiative of Ganderbal Police to organise an event in the far flung area and making it an interactive sessions, which they deemed essential for building trust and cooperation between police and the public.

The initiative showcases the commitment of Ganderbal Police in reaching out and building trust among the remotest corners of the district.(PTK)
