Former legislator from Rajouri dies due to Corona virus
Rajouri September 07 (PTK) A former legislator from Rajouri district and state secretary of National Conference, Thakur Rashpal Singh died due to Corona virus and some other medical issues on Monday morning.
Singh, a resident of Sialsui Kalakote, was a several times MLA from Kalakote assembly segment and was leader of National Conference since decades and had also serve as Vice Chairman of State Kissan Advisory Board in Omar Abdullah headed Government in 2009-15.
The government officials said that former legislator developed some medical issues on Sunday evening and was taken to SMVDN Hospital Katra where he breathed his last at around 2 AM in the wee morning hours and has also been tested positive for Corona virus.
” I have been informed by higher authorities as well as by the management of Katra hospital that former legislator has been tested positive for Corona virus.” said Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Nazir Sheikh.
He said that deployment of police has been made in the area to prevent any gathering in funeral and we as well as his family members are appealing people to follow all necessary SOPs.(PTK)
