Former BDC Chairman Langate Expresses Concern Over Rising Prices, Power Cuts During Ramadhan
Langate, March 3(PTK): Former Block Development Council (BDC) Chairman of Langate, Showket Hassan Pandit, on Monday raised serious concerns over the skyrocketing prices of essential commodities and frequent power outages, particularly during Sehari and Iftaar hours.
In a statement issued here, Pandit highlighted that the prices of vegetables have doubled in the past two days, making it difficult for common people to afford basic necessities. He urged the government to intervene and regulate market rates to prevent exploitation during the holy month of Ramadhan.
He further expressed disappointment over the erratic power supply, stating that before the commencement of Ramadhan, electricity was provided as per schedule. However, since the beginning of the holy month, power cuts have become frequent, causing immense inconvenience to the people.
“Unscheduled power cuts during Sehari and Iftaar time have left people struggling. The administration must ensure uninterrupted electricity supply, especially during these crucial hours,” Pandit said.
Appealing to the authorities, he urged immediate measures to control inflation and improve electricity supply to ease the hardships faced by the people during Ramadhan.
Local residents also echoed similar concerns, stating that both issues have severely impacted their daily lives. They demanded strict action against hoarding and black marketing, along with steps to ensure proper power distribution.(PTK).
