Food Safety department conduct surprise intensive Milk drive in Budgam, Lifted 17 Samples of Milk for analytical purposes

Budgam, 12 Sep: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Food Safety department Budgam has conduct special drive against Milk Suppliers, and about 17 Milk samples have been lifted for analytical purposes, the team headed by designated officer food safety Budgam Yameen Ul Nabi. He said the purpose of the special drive is the check quality of Milk being supplied in district Budgam and adjacent areas.
The milk suppliers has been warned to supply milk as per the standards as laid down in  Food safety and standards act.
The drive is maily focusing on milk supplies.
Officials said the market checking will be more intensified in the coming days while Food Business operators have be advised to adhere to rules and regulations as laid down in Food Safety and Standards Act 2006 Rules 2011 told officer.
The Food Safety Authorities have cautioned the shopkeepers and milk sellers to desist from the illegal practices and cooperate with the authorities for ensuring quality food items to the consumers.
The authorities have also sought cooperation from the general masses and have asked for feedback regarding the supply of substandard consumable goods so that requisite action under law can be taken to curb such trade practices.
The food safety authorities have impressed upon the food business operators to strictly adhere to the provisions laid under FSSA (Food Safety and Standards Authority) and maintain high standards of health and hygiene to guarantee safe food to end users.
The food business operators are directed maintain high standards of hygiene , sanitory condition in their premises and sell quality food, keep record of all purchase bill available everytime at their premises, also FOod business operators are direct not to indulge in any food business without obtaining proper  registration/ licence failing which action under food safety and standards Act  will be initiated against defaulters  which can lead to closure of the facility Yameen added.
The officer said such drives would continue in future as well.(PTK)
