Family members of three kashmiri youth arrested in Delhi stage protest in Srinagar, plead for their innocence

 

Sarinagar Dec, 08 (PTK) Amid rain and chill, three Budgam families staged a protest here in Kashmir capital Srinagar seeking release of their loved ones who have been arrested by Special Cell of Delhi Police.

Five men, three from Kashmir and 2 from Punjab were arrested by the Special Cell of Delhi Police from Shakarpur area of Delhi. Delhi Police said these arrests were made after a gunfight in the area.

The family members of the arrested men emerged in Press Enclave Srinagar alleging that Delhi Police of arresting them without any reason and pleaded for their innocence.

Three Kashmiri men who were arrested by police hail from Central Kashmir’s Budgam district. They are Reyaz Ahmed Rather and Shabir Ahmed Gojri, both residents of Nasrullah Pora and Muhammad Ayoub Pathan of Gondhipora village.

They “Is it a crime to be a Kashmiri, why are Kashmiris being harassed every now and then? what have we done?”

They blamed the Indian media for creating an image of Kashmiris wherein it gets easy for anyone to harass Kashmiris without any accountability whatsoever. “They are innocent, We know how Delhi Police is, and How Delhi has been to Kashmiris”they said.

When the news reached Mohammed Ayoub’s house, his daughter Iqra Jan crying the tears of pain, fell down unconscious and had to be shifted to a hospital for treatment, said their relative.

The Elder sister of Mohammed Ayoub, Hajira begum said that he went to Delhi to buy some required material for the construction of his house.

“We were eating food when we got this news from neighbour at around 1:00 PM yesterday. Since then, we are under extreme depression, we cannot come into terms with the allegations leveled against him,” Hajira said.

She said that the news has taken everyone by surprise and the while village and entire locality knows Ayoub, adding, “the Delhi Police is framing him in a fake case, he has no distant link whatsoever to Militancy.”

Naseema, the Wife of Mohammed Ayoub said that a local boy informed the family that Ayoub pathan had been arrested by Delhi Police on militant charged.

The family members of the Mohammed Ayoob pathan, appealed the Governor led administration to Intervene and bring him back as early as possible.

Pertinently, Pathan is the father of 3 daughters and 2 sons, One of is sons is in police custody for his alleged involvement in Lawaypora militant attack in February this year.

Meanwhile, the family of one more accused Shabir Ahmed Gojri said Shabir a driver by profession had left home to visit the shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti in Ajmer Sharif of Rajhastan.

Shaista, his wife said her husband visits the shrine every year and this time another youth from the same village Riyaz Ahmed accompanied him, “He called me late on Sunday night saying that he was alright and the next morning, i saw that he had been detained.”(PTK)
