Encounter breaks out in Soura Srinagar, two unidentified militants killed

Press Trust of Kashmir | Srinagar : Two unidentified militants have been killed in an encounter that broke out between militants and security forces in Soura area of summer capital Srinagar on Friday morning.

An official said that a joint team of Police and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.

He said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering an encounter.

In the ensuing gunfight, two unidentified militants have been killed while the search operation is going on in the area.

Sources said that slain militants are locals and belong to ISIS organization.(PTK).
