Elderly man injured in bear attack in Shopian

Press Trust of Kashmir | Shopian: A 50-year-old man was injured after being attacked by the bear in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday morning.

An official identified the man as Nazir Ahmad Sheikh son of Khazir Mohammad Shrikhla a resident of Chetterwach village in Imamsahib hamlet of Shopian district.

The official said sheikh was in orchards in between Kadgam and Chetterwach when he was attacked by the wild animal.

The official said that the man has received injuries on his face in the attack and has been shifted to a District hospital shopian for treatment.

Meanwhile a team of wildlife has rushed to the spot to trace the wild bear.(PTK).
