E-voting only way to include deprived 97% for voting: Renzushah

SRINAGAR, MAY 28 (PTK): The chairman Kashmir society & Kashmir Development today called on the chief Election commissioner J&K state Jenab Shalinder Kumar, at his Election commission office in Moulana Azad Road Srinagar. He appreciated him for successfully conducting the parliament election in J&K in most fair and peaceful manner that too in South Kashmir which was real challenge.

He brought in the notice of Chief Election commissioner J&K state that it is very essential to understand reasons for constant low percentage of voting in Kashmir valley as compared to other two divisions of state & rest of the country. He said that this continuous zero to 3% or more in various urban & rural areas has developed political vested interests in certain sections who are more keen than Militants or separatists to engineer such boycotts so that they are able to rule majority 97% by minuscule 3% which is misuse of democracy.

In order to overcome this problem in view of Security abnormal situation & over exposure of voter to risk of life, only in Kashmir valley fool proof E voting system be introduced for Assembly elections. For this purpose serious debate be Initiated so that experts make it sure how by E voting from homes the voters are able to vote by Adhaar number and election number passwords allotted to each voter.

This will not only save billions of Rupees spent on Election polling booth Securities but also  shall not make voter vulnerable to exposure. The vested interests have been exploiting security situation in their favour rather playing pro active role in involving deprived 97% in vote process. This is solution of all problems in Kashmir he suggested to CEC.

He also brought in notice of CEC that over favour of Security agencies to only two specific state level political parties, in providing huge contingent of security is against norms, rules, & Provisions of Constitution. The security ADG may be directed to be impartial and provide equal level to security to all state level registered Parties without any discrimination. (PTK)
