DEO holds meeting with heads of political parties regarding draft list of polling stations

UDHAMPUR, JULY15 PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR: District Election Officer, Udhampur Krittika Jyotsna today chaired a meeting of heads/representatives of all Political parties of District Udhampur regarding draft list of polling stations after delimitation process of District Udhampur at Mini Conference Hall DC Office Complex Udhampur.

At the onset, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Rafiq Ahmed Jaral welcomed the heads of political parties and briefed them about the draft list of polling stations of the District. He informed that there are 566 total existing polling stations in the District and 58 new polling stations has been proposed at various locations of the district.

Detailed discussions were held on various points like Appointment of booth level agent by the polling parties, Draft list of polling stations as per Assembly constituencies, Rationalization of polling stations, Change in location of polling stations etc.

DEO thanked all the representatives of polling parties and informed them that the draft list of polling stations of newly delimited Assembly constituencies of District Udhampur has been prepared so far. The DEO requested the heads of political parties for filling of objection/suggestions if any within a period of seven days from the date of its publication. The DEO apprised that the objections/suggestions should be filed in writing and submit same within stipulated time. DEO also requested to all the heads of political parties to appoint booth level agent at an earliest.

The DEO further informed that proposals for creation of new/auxiliary polling stations have been received from all EROs/AEROs in consultation with political parties.
