COVID-19: 25 fresh cases reported in J&K, tally reaches to 639

Srinagar, May 01 (PTK): Twenty five fresh cases of COVID-19 were reported in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday taking the tally of total number of positive cases to 639.

Jammu and Kashmir government spokesman Rohit Kansal in a tweet said that out the total number of cases, 384 are active cases comprising 378 in Kashmir and 6 in Jammu adding that 31 more COVID-19 patients had recovered on Friday.

“Today’s Status Update: Recoveries overtake new cases- 25 New Cases, 31 Recoveries; Total Cases now 639. Active Cases-384 (Jammu-6 Kashmir -378),” tweeted Kansal.

Officials said that out of 25 new cases 11 were tested positive at SKIMS Lab while as 14 were tested positive at CD hospital Lab.

Among the new 25 cases, 12 are from Anantnag, 06 from Kupwara, 02 each from Srinagar and Shopian and one each from Budgam, Bandipora and Baramulla.

Officials from SKIMS said that out of 642 samples tested, 11 were found positive, adding that among them 06 are from Kupwara, 02 from shopian and one each from Budgam, Baramulla and Bandipora.

Officials from GMC Srinagar said that out of 346 samples tested, 14 were tested positive, among them 12 are from Anantnag and two from Srinagar

Officials from Ganderbal said that 8 patients from the district were discharged after complete recovery and now there is only a single active positive patient in the district. (PTK)
