Commissioner Secretary, Chief Engineer PWD R&B Sami Arif Yesvi inaugurates Rs 5.87 Cr worth Languishing Project in Baramulla

SRINAGAR: The Commissioner Secretary Public Works Department (R&B), Khursheed Ahmad Shah in presence of Chief Engineer Kashmir Public Works Department (PWD) (R&B) Sami Arif Yesvi, District Development Commissioner Baramulla Dr. G. N. Itoo and Executive Engineer R&B Baramulla, Abdul Rashid Lone on 23 July inaugurated two languishing projects costing Rs.5.87 crore in Baramulla district of North Kashmir.

These projects include three kilometre long Yadipora- Haiderbeig road with bridge, having an approved cost of Rs 4.00 crore and Wagoora- Khaitangan road with bridge, costing Rs 1.87 crore.

Chief Engineer Kashmir on the occasion was informed that both the projects have connected several villages with each other and the projects will benefit about 45,000 population of the area including transporters.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Engineer PWD (R&B) Sami Arif Yesvi reiterated the commitment of the Governor led administration for providing every possible facility to the people.

He said that as a part of it, both the projects were completed and thrown open for the public on 23 July 2019. He said that by completion of Wagoora-Khaitangan road, a number of villages have been connected with each other, while as the people traveling from Baramulla to Babareshi will feel now better and their journey will be easier.

Executive Engineer R&B Baramulla, Abdul Rashid Lone informed that Yadipora-Haiderbeig road project was withheld as only Rs.2.52 crore were earlier released for it, so the project was later put under languishing project programme. The second project Wagoora-Khaitangan road also came under the same languishing programme.

He further said that department had forward more proposal to the government for the construction of bridge.

He further added that “we are working for people 24/7 and will do best to solve all the issues of people”.    (PTK)
