Central Kashmir Excise Range Destroys Illegal Poppy Cultivation in Srinagar-Budgam-Ganderbal Belt

Srinagar, May 11 (PTK): The Central Kashmir Excise Range on Sunday intensified its crackdown against illegal cultivation of narcotic crops under the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan and destroyed illicit poppy cultivation at multiple locations across the Srinagar-Budgam-Ganderbal Excise Range in collaboration with Police, Revenue and Agriculture Departments.

During the enforcement drive, illegal poppy cultivation spread across different patches of land was identified and destroyed at several locations, including Aulipora Chadoora in Budgam.

In connection with the case, FIR No. 58/2026 under Section 8/18 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Chadoora and investigation has been initiated.

Officials said all legal formalities including seizure, sampling and on-spot destruction of the illicit crop were carried out as per prescribed procedure.

The Excise Department reiterated its commitment towards curbing illegal cultivation and trafficking of narcotic substances and ensuring strict enforcement of law under the supervision of the Excise Commissioner and Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Kashmir.(PTK)
