Bandipora, May 15 (PTK): The number of COVID-19 positive patients in north kashmir’s Bandipora district recorded 135 as one more patient tests positive on Friday evening.
An official said that a 23-year-old girl returned from Delhi yesterday was under administrative quarantine tested positive for COVID-19 today in Bandipora, the number of cases in the district rose to 135.
“Total number of cases in the district now stands at 135 of which 13 are active while 121 patients people have been discharged so far,” he said
Till date around 5476 people have been put under surveillance, including 310 people in Admin quarantine, 13 in hospital isolation he said. Besides, 6969 persons have completed their surveillance period of 28 days.
Meanwhile, authorities have sealed several areas surrounding location of COVID-19 cases or untraced contact cases in Bandipora to prevent the spread of the deadly virus. An official said no movement will be allowed into Red zones of Bandipora.
Meanwhile, in a tweet Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shabaz Mirza informed that With recovery of 4 more patients, we have only 13 active cases. One case tested positive today is not a matter of concern as the person was straightway brought from Delhi yesterday and kept in Administrative quarantine.
Testing of travellers is paying off. No time to lower the guards, he said.(PTK)
