Ashraf Sehraie lashed out on Jail authorities of Tihar
SRINAGAR, AUGUST 12 (PTK): Tehreek-e-Hurriyat chairman, Mohammad Ashraf Sehraie lashed out on Jail authorities of Tihar over barbaric and inhuman treatment towards Dukhtran-e-Millat leaders. In a press statement he said that Asiya Indrabi and her two associates Fehmeeda Sofi and Nahida Nasreen placed in a solitary confinement in three separate cells. He said we have the reports that they are being targeted inhumanely. We want tell the government they are political prisoners yet matted out worst treatment and putting women folk in a solitary confinement is a barbaric act
They are being tortured psychologically, mentally and physically. He said these political prisoners too have rights according to Geneva Convention to which India is a signatory. So they must be dealt according to that.
The vengeful treatment to which they are subjected during the detention included off and on solitary confinements posing a great threat to their lives.
Unavailability of medicines and medical care and sub-standard quality of food. Even the visitors and relatives who come to see them in jail also harassed and tormented by the jail authorities.
Chairman Tehreek-e-Hurriyat said that relatives of Asiya Indrabi, Fahmeeda Sofi and Nahida Nasreen revealed that they are being provided food through locked iron baars and not allowed to come out of the solitary confinement. He said even food given to them in polythene bags instead on plates.
Asiya Indrabi in particular is suffering from multiple ailments despite that life saving medicine not allowed to her and she desperately needs physical and physiological support of her associates yet they have been separated.
Moreover, in his statement Sehraie Sahab strongly also condemned the ill treatment meted out with relatives of Shahid Yousuf by Tihar jail authorities, by not allowing them to meet him, despite came from such a long distance. Jail authorities also treated harshly and unethically with other Hurriyat leaders including Dr. Gh. Mohammad Bhat, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saifullah, Raja Mehraj-ud-din, Shabir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Shahid-ul-Islam, Farooq Ahmad Dar, Mohammad Aslam and zahoor Ahmad Watali, said Sehraie.
In his press statement on Sunday Sehraie sahab strongly condemned the arrest spree in various parts of Kashmir, accusing a government of declaring war on people on the eve of their 15 August. He said India has no moral and political authority to observe such till their occupation remains continue in Kashmir. Such suppressive steps would never dislodge resistance leaders from taking the struggle to its logical conclusion.
Shehraie said police, army and other agencies have formally launched a crackdown on resistance leaders and activists under garb so-called their Independence day, arrested Haji Gh. Hassan Bhat, Ashiq Hussain Sofi of Khanyar, Shakeel Ahmad Khan & Fayaz Ahmad from Chadoora, including Ishfaq Ahmad Khan who is lodged in a police station Rajbagh since last one week.
Meanwhile, chairman Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Mohammad Ashraf Sehraie paid glorious tributes on the first martyrdom anniversary of Mohammad Yaseen Yatoo. He said he was a noble sole who sacrifices his life and people of Kashmir and leadership in particular is in-depth to all those brave hearts who lived their precious lives to end Indian brutal occupation.
