Army Shoots Down Pakistani Drone in Poonch Region

Army troops intercepted and fired shots at a Pakistani drone near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, officials confirmed on Monday.

The incident unfolded late Sunday night when the drone, detected in the Nar Mankote area of Mendhar, breached Indian airspace. Responding swiftly, Indian troops engaged the intruding drone, firing at least three rounds to deter its advance.

Despite initial incursion, the drone retreated to the Pakistani side as Indian troops maintained their defensive stance, highlighting the vigilance and readiness of the armed forces.

In the wake of escalating drone activities along the border, the Jammu and Kashmir police have announced a substantial cash reward of Rs 3 lakh for information leading to the interception of drones involved in smuggling narcotics, arms, or explosives. This move underscores the collaborative efforts between security agencies to safeguard the region from external threats.

A comprehensive search operation is currently underway in the area to ensure the safety and security of the border region.

Stay tuned for further updates as the situation develops.
