Amit Shah Challenges Congress Over Alliance with National Conference, Questions Rahul Gandhi on Article 370 and National Unity
Srinagar, August 23: Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s recent critique of the Congress party over its alliance with the National Conference (NC) in the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir elections has stirred political discourse. In a series of questions directed at Rahul Gandhi, Shah emphasized concerns over Article 370, reservations for marginalized communities, and national unity.
Shah accused Congress of compromising national integrity for political gains and questioned whether they support NC’s promises to restore Article 370 and 35A, abolish reservations for Dalits, Gujjars, Bakarwals, and Pahadis, and promote separatism by engaging in dialogue with Pakistan.
He also raised concerns about the alliance’s stance on reinstating government jobs for relatives of those involved in terrorism, reviving cross-border trade with Pakistan, and renaming significant locations like Shankaracharya Hill and Hari Hill. Shah challenged Rahul Gandhi to clarify Congress’s position on these divisive issues, particularly regarding the reservation rights granted after the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A.
The questions underscore Shah’s criticism of Congress’s alliance with NC, suggesting it could jeopardize national security for political power..
