Altaf Bukhari Calls for Unlocking J&K’s Economic Potential, Boosting Jobs & Local Businesses
Srinagar, May 05 (PTK): Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Tuesday called for unlocking the economic potential of Jammu and Kashmir by empowering local talent, strengthening businesses and creating more job opportunities.
Bukhari made these remarks while addressing the Cold Chain Asia & Kashmir Food Expo held at Parimpora in Srinagar, where he participated as chief guest and inaugurated the event.
He emphasised the urgent need to harness the growth potential of businesses and industries in the region, stating that it is key to ensuring sustained prosperity, economic development and tackling rising unemployment.
Highlighting broader opportunities, Bukhari said that tapping sectors beyond horticulture and agriculture can significantly accelerate economic growth and generate employment. “Jammu and Kashmir has immense potential in its people and resources. If properly utilised, it can become economically strong and self-reliant,” he said.
He further stressed that focusing on business opportunities remains the most effective way to address unemployment in the region. He also urged established business entities to create more jobs and support budding entrepreneurs through mentorship and guidance.
