Kashmiri Law Student Selected for Prestigious Lucerne Academy Program in Switzerland

Srinagar, June 26: A law student from Kashmir, Umar Masoodi, has been selected for the prestigious Lucerne Academy Program in Switzerland. He is the state spokesperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA).
The programme is set to commence on July 1, 2024, at the University of Lucerne.
The program offers an intensive curriculum featuring seven courses and various seminars led by distinguished professors and practitioners.

Notably, Masoodi is the only student selected from India for this program. The Lucerne Academy presents an unparalleled opportunity for him to gain a comprehensive understanding of international human rights law.

According to a statement issued by the JKSA states that the program’s focus on “Business and Human Rights” aligns perfectly with Masoodi’s academic interests and career aspirations. The unique location between Geneva and Strasbourg, combined with its international faculty, will provide him with exposure to best practices in human rights implementation.
