Light rain/snow likely at Scattered places in next 24 hours

Srinagar January, 19(PTK) Strong WD likely to hit JK from 23 January

There are chances of light rain and snow at scattered places in J&K in next 24 hours.

An official of the MeT said that strong western disturbance os likely to hit J&K from 23 January which is likely to bring moderate to heavy snowfall at most of the places of Kashmir and parts of Jammu.

He said there was a possibility of scattered rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, especially Upper Reaches, during the next 24 hours.

“From January 19-21, weather is likely to be cloudy with chances of light rain/snow over isolated to scattered places mainly over higher reaches.

“From 22nd to 24th, there is possibility of light to moderate rain and snow over plains and moderate snow over middle and higher reaches most likely during 23rd/24th January at most places of J&K, he said.

Kashmir is under the grip of Chillai-Kalan, the 40-day long harsh winter period that started on December 21. (PTK)
