AKAM: DC Anantnag attends concluding ceremony of Multi Media Exhibition
PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR ANANTNAG, DECEMBER 10: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr Basharat Qayoom today attended the concluding ceremony of a five day long multimedia exhibition on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) at Sports Stadium Anantnag.
The exhibition is being organized by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. The event was also attended by CMO Anantnag Dr MY Zagoo and Joint Director, CBC, Regional Office Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
Speaking at the event and addressing the large gathering of students, the DC said that these events create awareness among the students regarding the struggle undertaken for achieving freedom and the rights guaranteed to them as citizens by the Constitution.
He said students today are the prime victims of drug menace and advised them to be proactive in preventing their peers from falling into this menace.

He also highlighted the role of students in ensuring cleanliness and maintaining sanitary conditions in their surroundings. He said that compost pits are being set up in all educational institutions and this will develop acumen among the students regarding generation of organic manure and develop a sensitive attitude towards the ecological balance.
Joint Director, CBC, Regional Office Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh thanked the district administration for the support in organizing the exhibition. He said he is hopeful that the exhibition has provided all the visitors an opportunity to familiarize themselves with various events of the freedom struggle and created a sense of belonging and responsibility towards the Nation.
A memento was presented to DC Anantnag by CMO Anantnag and JD CBC Regional Office.
The event was attended by a large gathering of students, officials from various departments and members of the civil society.
