A gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Khandaypora area in Awantipora area of outh Kashmir’s Pulwama District on Tuesday.

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR SRINAGAR NOV 01:-Reports reaching news agency Press Trust of Kashmir that a joint team of Army, SOG and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Semthan area.

A senior Police officer told said that while the cordon was being laid the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering an encounter.

As per the sources two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the area.
