Police cracks Gopalpora grenade lobbing incident cracked, 2 hybrid militants arrested
PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR SRINAGAR AUG 20:- Jammu and Kashmir police on Saturday claimed to have cracked the grenade lobbing incident on minority community in Gopalpora area of Budgam district by arresting two hybrid militants of LeT.
Kashmir zone police in a tweet said that the vehicle used by militants has also been seized and arrested militants have been identified as Sahil Wani and Altaf Farooq alias Amir.
“Budgam Police cracked grenade lobbing incident on minority at Gopalpora on 15/8/22 in which 1 person from minority was seriously injured. 2 Hybrid terrorists of LeT namely Sahil Wani & Altaf Farooq @ Amir arrested. Vehicle used by terrorists also seized. Investigation going on,” police tweeted.
Police in a statement said that during the late evening hours of 15th August 2022, one grenade lobbing incident took place at Gopalpora Chadoora in which one person of minority community namely Krishna Kumar got injured, the injured was shifted to SMHS Hospital for treatment .
It reads that for the said incident case FIR number 147/2022 under relevant* sections of law stands registered at Police Station Chadoora.

Senior Police Officers visited the spot and investigated the scene of crime and during the course of investigation one small CCTV footage was collected which revealed that 02 scotty born suspects are involved in the grenade lobbing incident, it adds.
Many suspects were picked up for questioning and during further investigation, police received an information that one individual namely *Sahil Ahmad Wani son of Ghulam Mohammad Wani resident of Tangnar Kralpopra Chadoora is involved in the incident and the said individual was arrested and during his sustaining questioning he admitted that he along with main conspirator and hybrid militant namely *Altaf Farooq @ Amir son of Farooq Ahmad rather resident of Tangnar Kralpora are involved in the commission of crime.
Accordingly raid was conducted and the arrest of the individual was effected and during the search of the individual Posters of militant organization TRF along with some incriminating material and one hand grenade was recovered, it adds.
The scotty bearing registration No.JK01 AH 7426 make TVS used in the commission of crime has also been seized in the instant case. The accused person namely Altaf Farooq@Amir has also been found involved in the illegal transfer of money , receipt and distribution of funds from the organization Lashkar-e-Toiba.* The investigation of the case is at its earlier stage and more arrests and recoveries are expected, it adds.
The grenade was thrown at the behest of the directions of Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists ( TRF) to create the atmosphere of fear among the society.
