Status of Jal Jeevan Mission schemes reviewed in Rajouri
DC calls for making collective efforts for effective implementation
PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR RAJOURI, JULY 21: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today chaired a meeting of the concerned officers to review the progress under Jal Jeevan Mission in the district.
Officers who attended the meeting included SE Hydraulics, JP Singh; ExEn Jal Shakti Rajouri, Mushtaq Ahmed; ExEn Jal Shakti Nowshera, Bashir Mehmood and other concerned officers.
At the outset, the meeting was informed that the district has 129252 households of which 67736 have functional tap water connection while 61517 are yet to be covered.
The meeting was also informed about the IEC activities being carried out in the district by Integrated Support Agency (ISA) to sensitize the public about water conservation; different aspects of the Jal Jeevan Mission and the role and responsibilities of the Gram Sabhas in the conservation of local water resources.

While addressing the officers in the meeting, the DDC said that Jal Jeevan Mission envisages providing safe drinking water to the people through individual household tap connections in a time bound manner.
He directed the concerned officers to work in tandem for the successful implementation of the program in the district so that necessary benefits are provided to the general public.
