Press Trust of Kashmir | Srinagar: Kargil victory flame flagged off on Saturday from Wussan area of Ganderbal.

Pertinently Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated every year on 26 July, to celebrate the valour and supreme sacrifice made by all ranks of Indian Army in the line of duty during Kargil War, 1999.

Moreover Kargil Victory Flame is a symbol of valour and homage to heroes who sacrificed lives for the motherland.

An official said that Kargil Vijay Diwas Victory Flame reached at Wussan on 16 Jul 2022. Victory flame was taken over by Commanding Officer, Wussan Battalion from Gurez Brigade. T

He said that the event was witnessed by CAPF, JKP, NCC Cadets, students, teachers, youth, civil dignitaries, Ex- servicemen and veer naris. participating in the Victory March making it one of the rare moments of pride and later paid their homage to brave hearts of Kargil War during the Wreath Laying Ceremony at Kangan.

The victory flame was then taken to Zojila Pass to be hand over to 14 Corps for further conduct of victory celebrations., he added. victory flame flagged off from Wussan Ganderbal.:- PTK.
