Conductor charred to death, driver injured as truck catches fire on Srinagar-Bandipora Highway

Srinagar June 01 (PTK) A conductor was charred to death while as driver was injured as truck catches fire on Srinagar-Bandipora highway.

An official said the conductor and the driver were inside the truck when it caught fire, however, police rushed to the spot and took duo to hospital.

He said that duo injured were taken to Srinagar hospital where the conductor succumbed to his injuries.

He identified conductor as Rakesh Singh son of Darshan Singh, a resident of Jammu and the injured driver has been identified as Ajay Singh, a resident of Ramban, who is undergoing treatment, he added.

Police has registered a case and started investigation. (PTK)
