Militant killed in ongoing Bandipora encounter

Slain along associate had given slip to forces in Srinder Forests

Srinagar May 13 (PTK) A militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter in Brar Argam area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Friday

An official said that a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.

He said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering a gunfight.

During exchange of fire so far one militant has been killed and operation is going on, he said.

“Two recent infiltrated #Pakistani militants of LeT terror outfit who escaped from recent anti-militant operation on 11/5/22 at Salinder forest area were #tracked down. They have been trapped today at Brar #Bandipora.” Kashmir police zone tweeted while quoting IGP Kashmir. (PTK)
