Dearness Allowance Hiked By 3% To 34%, Effective From January 1, 2022

 

Srinagar April 20 (PTK) The J&K government has issued orders to increase the dearness allowance for central government employees and pensioners by 3 per cent to 34 per cent of the basic pay from 31 per cent previously, effective January 1, 2022.

That increase in DA is per the accepted formula, which is based on the recommendations of the 7th central pay commission.

“In continuation to Government Order No 304-F of 2021 dated. 17.11.2021, it is hereby ordered that Government employees working in regular pay levels under 7th Pay Commission recommendations, shall be paid Dearness Allowance as 34 percent from January 01, 2022.

“The term ‘Basic Pay’ in the revised pay structure means the pay drawn in the prescribed level in the Pay Matrix as per 7th Pay Commission recommendations, but does not include any other type of pay like special pay etc.” Order adds.

“The arrears on account of additional installment of Dearness Allowance with effect from January, 2022 shall be paid in cash in the month of April, 2022 and the payment on account of Dearness Allowance involving fractions of 50 paisa and above may be rounded to the next higher rupee and the fractions of less than 50 paisa shall be ignored.” It adds.
