Drug De-Addiction Awareness Programme held in kangan organised by Awaaz and Ehsaas foundation NGO.

Ganderbal Feb 18 (PTK) :A drug de-addiction awareness programme organised by the awaaz and Ehsaas foundation NGO was held at Shiekh u alum on Thursday. The awareness programme was based on the theme ‘Socio-economic and legal implications of drug abuse’.

The Programme Was Attended By SDPO Kangan Syed Yasir Qadri ,SHO Kangan Aftab Ahmad , Doctor manzoor Ahmad Khan, Doctor ab majeed and senior citizens of the areas

Dr manzoor Ahmad Khan spoke on the occasion and deliberated on the ill-effects of drug abuse and highlighted the need of taking preventive measures to eradicate the menace of drugs and other social evils in the district.

He also Thanked To Awaaz and Ehsaas foundation Especially Raja parvaiz who is a founder of this NGO For Organizing Such Good Events In Rural Areas.

The organisers said the main aim of the programme was to spread awareness amongst the student community to take necessary steps for curbing the drug menace.

Doctors ab majeed Khan discussed its health aspects and added that if any person is in stressful conditions or facing drug abuse, awaaz and Ehsaas foundation will lend him or her a helping hand by providing counseling .

Principal of Shiekh u alum school stressed upon the social and economic aspect of the drug abuse.

Rajaz parvaiz founder of This NGO deliberated upon the legal aspect by making the students aware about narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances act 1985 and the recent draft of drug policy in Jammu Kashmir.

SHO Aftab Ahmad presented vote of thanks. A similar drug de-addiction awareness programme aiming at spreading awareness about the ill-effects of drugs was organised by Awaaz and eshaan foundation NGO. (PTK)
