Transporters threaten agitation over Govt’s decision to roll back 30 per cent fare hike order

 

Jammu Dec, 03 (PTK) Transporters in Jammu & Kashmir threatened to start agitation against the government’s order to roll back 30 percent fare hike order.

According to PTK, Leaders of the transporters said that all commercial vehicles had stopped operating on March 15 and have remained off the road since then in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic and were later allowed to carry just half passengers.

The government has announced relief package for all the sectors but we have been left high and dry. Transporters have suffered huge losses due to the lockdown, they said

They also urged the government to announce a waiver of interests on loans and insurance to transporters.

They said that rates of diesel and petroleum has increased manifold but salaries haven’t been increased since last many years.

They requested authorities to roll back the order in which govt decided to roll back 30 percent fare hike order.(PTK)
