Chak Akhal residents without drinking water from last 10 days, locals stage protest, block road

 

Ganderbal Dec, 03 (PTK) Residents of Chak Akhal Village in Ganderbal district staged a protest against the Jal Shakti (PHE) Department complaining of acute shortage of drinking water in their locality from last 10 days

According to PTK, Local residents who blocked the Akhal road in Kangan, Ganderbal, said that despite the frequent attempts of the locals to get the water problem of their area addressed, the admin has paid no heed to their demands.

Raising slogans against the PHE (Jal-Shakti) department they said, “Even though we have been provided connections, but no water supply runs through those pipes.”

The residents are facing immense problems due to the water shortage in the area, which has been hit for the past ten days, the locals alleged.

They also alleged that when ever we are receiving water, it is highly contaminated.

Meanwhile, the traffic remained suspended on the road, which was restored only after the police reached the spot and promised the locals of addressing the issue immediately.(PTK)
