J&K Police Organises Drug Awareness Programme in Awantipora Under NMJKA
Awantipora, May 15 (PTK): Under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan, Jammu and Kashmir Police organised a drug awareness programme at Islamia Public School Khrew on Thursday, where students and staff were sensitised about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of building a drug-free society.
Officials said participants were educated about the dangers associated with narcotics and encouraged to actively contribute towards spreading awareness against substance abuse.
Meanwhile, police teams also carried out narco-related searches in the K. Koot area of Awantipora and Sharshali Khrew as part of sustained efforts to curb drug trafficking and identify anti-social elements involved in narcotics-related activities.
In another action, authorities conducted inspections of medical establishments during which two shops owned by Ajaz Ahmad Shah and Showkat Ahmad Shah were found operating without valid drug licences.
Officials said the shops, located in Kaigam and Hariparigam respectively, were sealed by the Drug Control Department after completion of legal formalities.
Police reiterated their commitment towards eradicating the drug menace and appealed to the public to cooperate with authorities in making society drug-free.(PTK)
