LG Manoj Sinha Inaugurates National Youth Festival ‘Aarohan 2026’ in Srinagar
Srinagar, May 11 (PTK): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday inaugurated the National Youth Festival “Aarohan 2026” in Srinagar and called upon the youth to lead the vision of a developed India by 2047 through innovation, leadership and creativity.
Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor said the festival carries the vision of “Rise, Shine and Conquer” and represents a bold challenge and promise for building a developed India.
“National Youth Festival is also a proclamation that the time for youth has arrived. Through the Young Leaders Dialogue, we are laying the foundation for the next chapter of India’s glorious heritage,” he said.
Manoj Sinha urged participants of the “Viksit J&K Young Leaders Dialogue,” Hackathon and cultural events to actively contribute towards nation-building and inclusive governance.
He stressed that governance cannot thrive without the voice and participation of youth and emphasised that every young person possesses immense talent which only requires opportunities and self-belief.
“I want India’s youth to create their own paths instead of following well-worn trails because innovation and invention emerge from unexplored routes,” he said.
Highlighting the importance of culture, the Lieutenant Governor said music, literature, dance, theatre, sports and crafts reflect the soul and identity of India.
He urged the youth to embrace their uniqueness rather than imitate others.
“The world does not need duplicates. It needs unique youth who can light the way for future generations,” he added.
The Lieutenant Governor also remarked that true victory lies not in defeating others but in overcoming inequality, apathy and despair.
“Our youth must remember that humanity’s greatest triumphs were achieved in classrooms and laboratories by trailblazers who transformed the world through determination and courage,” he said.
Among others present on the occasion were Minister for Youth Services and Sports Satish Sharma, Commissioner Secretary Youth Services and Sports Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo, SSP Srinagar G. V. Sundeep Chakravarthy, Director General Youth Services and Sports Anuradha Gupta, senior officials and youth delegates from across the country.(PTK)
