Awareness Activities Organised Across Budgam Under 100-Day NMBA Campaign
Budgam, May 09 (PTK): A series of awareness and outreach programmes were organised across Budgam on Friday under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan aimed at educating people, particularly youth and rural communities, about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of environmental and social responsibility.
As part of the campaign, the Excise Team Sub Range Budgam conducted a major awareness programme through a Friday sermon at Batpora Chadoora. During the sermon at Jamia Masjid, the Imam highlighted the harmful impact of drug abuse on society and human health and urged people to remain vigilant against the growing narcotics menace. Farmers were also sensitised and advised not to cultivate illicit narcotic crops such as poppy and cannabis in their farms and orchards.
Officials said the programme emphasised the collective responsibility of society in building a drug-free environment through awareness and education.
Meanwhile, Raithan Forest Range organised a plantation drive, pledge ceremony and awareness programme at Government Middle School Gurwaite Kalan. Students, teachers and local residents participated enthusiastically and pledged to work towards environmental protection and social awareness. Participants were also educated about the importance of preserving forests, biodiversity and maintaining a healthy and drug-free society.
Further intensifying awareness efforts among students, a slogan-writing competition was organised at Government Higher Secondary School Budgam under the campaign. Students creatively expressed their views through slogans highlighting the dangers of drug abuse, environmental conservation and responsible citizenship.
