*JKECC Demands 4-Day Special Holiday on Eid-ul-Adha & 6-Day Holiday for Employees Posted Outside Home Regions*
Srinagar, June 02 (PTK) The Jammu and Kashmir Employees Coordination Committee (JKECC)* has strongly urged the UT administration to declare a *4-day special holiday* on the auspicious occasion of *Eid-ul-Adha* for all employees, and a 6-day special holiday for employees posted outside their home regions — including Kashmir-based employees serving in Jammu and Jammu-based employees serving in Kashmir.
In a statement issued to PTK, Shah Fayaz, President of JKECC, said that Eid-ul-Adha is a sacred and significant festival involving religious rituals, family gatherings, and community involvement. To ensure that employees can celebrate the festival peacefully and with full devotion, JKECC demands that the government announce a 4-day holiday from June 7 to June 10, 2025.
Additionally, the Committee has demanded a 6-day special holiday — from June 7 to June 12, 2025 — for employees serving away from their home regions. This includes both Kashmir-based employees posted in Jammu and Jammu-based employees posted in Kashmir, who often face long-distance travel and logistical challenges in reaching home for such important festivals.
Shah Fayaz, President of JKECC, appealed to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor , Worthy Cheif Mister and Chief Secretary to kindly consider this appeal in the interest of employee welfare, and administrative goodwill.
JKECC has also called upon all employee unions and civil society organizations to support this just and heartfelt demand.(PTK)
