District police ganderbal apprehended a drug peddler and seizes contraband substance from his possession.

-In continuation of the efforts to eradicate the drug menace from the society, Ganderbal Police arrested a Drug Peddler in the jurisdiction of PS Kheerbawani and Seized Contraband Substance from his possession.

Today, on the directions of SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS, Police Party of Police Station Kheerbawani laid Naka at Baroosa Chowk for a routine checking. During naka checking one person, upon seeing naka party tried to flee from the spot and was tactifully apprehended by the swift action of naka party and during his personal search, Contraband Substance (Codeine Phosphate) was recovered and seized. The accused disclosed his identity as Ashiq Ahmad Dar S/O Abdul Hameed Dar R/O Sarai Dangerpora Bandipora.

Accordingly, Case FIR No.17/2025, under relevant Sections of NDPS Act stands registered at PS Kheerbawani and further investigation has been taken up.
