JDU President G.M. Shaheen Lauds Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s Visit to Jammu & Kashmir

Janata Dal (United) Jammu & Kashmir President, G.M. Shaheen, today hailed the recent visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to the Union Territory, describing it as a historic and transformative step towards securing peace and development in the region.

Shaheen said it is for the first time that a Union Home Minister has consistently demonstrated such a focused approach towards safeguarding the borders of Jammu & Kashmir and ensuring the safety and well-being of its people.

He strongly criticized the previous Congress governments for what he called their “failure and negligence” in maintaining law and order in Kashmir, which led to years of instability and unrest.

Shaheen further praised Amit Shah for personally visiting the sensitive Kathua border area to review the security arrangements on the ground — a move he said reflects the Union Government’s serious commitment to strengthening border security and boosting the morale of security forces.

Highlighting the changing ground realities in Jammu & Kashmir, Shaheen pointed out that due to the sustained efforts of the current government, prominent separatist leaders like Mohammad Yousuf Naqash, Hakeem Abdul Rashid, and Bashir Ahmad Andrabi have publicly renounced separatism. These leaders have declared their allegiance to the Constitution of India and distanced themselves from the separatist ideology — a development Shaheen termed as a “new chapter in Kashmir’s journey towards peace and integration.”

Shaheen also lauded the Union Home Minister for reviewing various developmental projects aimed at improving the socio-economic conditions of the people of Jammu & Kashmir. He expressed confidence that the Centre’s proactive measures will usher in a new era of stability, prosperity, and inclusiveness in the region.

“The future of Jammu & Kashmir lies in peace, progress, and unity. The commitment of the Union Government under the leadership of Amit Shah is shaping a new narrative for the region — one of hope and development,” Shaheen concluded. (PTK)
