16-Years Old Student Drowns to Death in Sonamarg

GANDERBAL (PTK): A tragic incident unfolded in Sonamarg, a region in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, where a 16-year-old student lost his life due to drowning at a fishpoint on Saturday.

 

According to a report from the Press Trust of Kashmir, the young boy drowned while bathing in the fishpoint. Despite the valiant efforts of a teacher from New Dream School who attempted to save him, the student’s life could not be spared. Unfortunately, by the time they reached him, it was already too late.

 

The deceased student has been identified as Shoaib Farooq (16), son of Farooq Ahmad Chechi, hailing from Chandoosa, Baramulla, and studying at Public School Baramulla.

 

Subsequently, the body has been transported to the Primary Health Center in Sonamarg to fulfill the necessary medical and legal formalities.
